In Loving Memory of Ralf David “Oyo” Larracas June 14, 1998 – July 29, 2023 With a heavy heart, we announce the passing of Ralf David “Oyo” Larracas of Lakeland, Florida, but remember him with joy. David passed from this Earth on Saturday, July 29, 2023, as a result of a traumatic brain injury, at the age of only 25 years old. David was born in Quezon City, Philippines on June 14, 1998, and moved to the United States at 3 years old. From the beginning, David, affectionately known as “Oyo”, brought joy wherever he was. David excelled in baseball, but while in high school, decided he wanted a change, and became passionate about cheerleading. David had an amazing talent for tumbling, flipping and athleticism. He was a loyal friend. David was always smiling and treated everyone as a friend. It has been said that when David walked into a room, his smile lit it up. David received a scholarship to the University of Central Florida for Varsity cheerleading, and was part of the Pi Kappa Phi fraternity. David worked as an Industrial Engineer for Exolith Labs and got to play with “moon dirt” in big sand boxes (yes, this is a real thing!) David is survived by his parents, Kevin and Aimee Jones of Lakeland, Florida; his siblings, Brooke Dresser (Robert) of Lakeland, Florida, David Jones (Haley) of Lakeland, Florida, Stephanie Whipple (Anthony) of Lakeland, Florida and Hanna Larracas of Santa Clara, California; his grandparents Rizal and Elnora Cabanban of Seattle, Washington and Arlene Jones of Lakeland, Florida. Others mourning this tragic loss are countless aunts, uncles, cousins, coaches, teammates, and friends. Services will be held Friday, August 4, 2023; Visitation with the family is 2-3 pm, Funeral begins at 3 pm at 2025 Bartow Rd., Lakeland, FL at Heart of the Father Ministry. Flowers will be received at Whidden McLean Funeral home in Bartow, Florida prior to services.
