Phyllis M. Bertone

Phyllis M. Bertone, 82, of Bartow, Florida, died from complications of surgery February 9th ,2013 in Salem, MA She was born to the late Leo and Marion Malcolm on March 11, 1930 in Everett, MA. Phyllis graduated from Everett High School. She married the late John F. Bertone in 1952, and lived in Everett until they relocated to Florida in 1982. She was a supervisor at Middlesex Bank until her retirement. Phyllis was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church and the Lioness Club of Bartow. She was an early and active participant in the Polk Country Senior Games, and a past President of the Floral Lakes Social Club. Phyllis enjoyed traveling, reading, and spending time with her Floral Lakes friends and her family. She is survived by her children: Dorothy (Tom) Walsh of Wakefield; MA, John (Linda) Bertone of Newburyport, MA; and Stephen Bertone of Austin, TX. She also leaves behind six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and a sister, Edna Creedon of Wilmington, MA. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to St. Thomas Catholic Church of Bartow. A funeral mass was held in Malden, MA and burial service will be held at 10:00AM, Saturday, March 23rd at Lakeland Memorial Gardens, Lakeland, FL.
