Philip M. Hadden, Sr., 64, of Bartow, FL, died Monday, October 11, 2010, at Winter Haven Hospital. Mr. Hadden was born February 19, 1946 in Pensacola, FL. Command Sergeant Major Hadden retired from the US Army after 26 years of service to his country. Hadden recently was inducted into the Ordnance Corps Hall of Fame at the Aberdeen Proving Ground in Maryland. He was a Mason, a Shriner, a Park Ranger at Kissimmee State Park and a Independent Truck Driver. He was also known as Coach Hadden. In 1994 he got involved in the Bartow Youth Football Program that was floundering and 18 years later turned it into one of the strongest leagues. He is survived by his wife of 45 years Shirley Hadden of Bartow. Daughter; Tammie Almaraz of Rochester, NH. Son; Philip M. Hadden Jr. of Tallahassee, FL. Brother; Johnny Haddon of Bartow. Sister Sue Marshall of Winter Haven. Five Grandchildren; Eric Taylor of Bartow, Gabino Almaraz, Jr. of Rochester, NH, Dillon Hadden of Winter Haven, Alonzo Almaraz of Rochester, NH and Kaitlyn Hadden of Winter Haven. Arrangements are being handled by Whidden-McLean Funeral Home, 650 East Main Street, Bartow, FL, where the family will receive friends from 2 to 3 PM Saturday, October 16, 2010. Funeral service will be at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home at 3:00 PM Saturday, October 16, 2010. Burial in Gandy Cemetery.
