Dr. Pedro P. Almazan, 92, passed away Monday, November 14, 2022. He was born August 11, 1930 in Cienfuegos, Cuba to Pedro & Isabel Almazan, Sr. Pedro was a graduate of the Veterinary School of the University of Havana class of 1952. He married Alicia De Leon on August 16, 1952 right after his graduation. Pedro came to USA as a refugee from Communism in 1962 with his wife and two small children. He was a Veterinarian. He was a member of Cuban Veterinary Medicine Association. He was the founder of the George Street Christmas Lights known as "Christmas Tree Lane", he also enjoyed doing yardwork. He was preceded in death by his wife Alicia De Leon Almazan. He is survived by his son Pedro "Pete" Almazan & wife Susan of Lakeland, daughter Martha Howell & husband Carl of Bartow, brother Sebastian "Chany" Almazan & wife Matilde of Miami, grandchildren Vicki, Elizabeth, Curtis, Bryce & wife Tara and Elise, great grandchildren Brooklyn, Levy, Uriah, Ari and Emery. A Celebration of Pedro's Life will be announced at a later date. The family requests donations be made to The American Heart Association in leu of flowers. The Family will receive friends from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm Saturday, December 10th, 2022 at First Assembly of God, 915 S. Broadway Avenue in Bartow, FL.
