Mrs. Pauline (Polly) Hagler Cope entered into eternal rest on October 4, 2011 from complications of Alzheimer's. The daughter of a farmer and a homemaker, Pauline was born April 20, 1923 , in Geneva County, Alabama. As a teenager she moved to Florida, first to Hollywood then to the Bartow area. She was married to Gilbert Edward (Eddie) Cope who preceded her in death in 1987. She was also preceded in death by her Sons, Aaron, Wayne, Michael and Gilbert E. (Buddy) Jr., her grandson Wilburt Ray Allen Jr., and great granddaughter Chloe Hair; her two brothers and sisters, R.G. Hagler, A.D. Hagler, and Eloise H. Stephens. She is survived by her daughters, Diane and husband Wilbur Allen, Bartow, Vicki and husband Phillip Womble, Highland City, Debbie and her husband Matthew Tate, Lakeland; daughter-in-law Ann Cope, Carrollton, Texas; 7 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and two great,great grandchildren; 3 nieces. Pauline was a member of the First Baptist Church. She was a homemaker. She also was a poll worker for many elections. She was a cancer survivor and spent time collecting donations for the American Cancer Society. Her grandchildren called her Mema and the other children now grown (some for whom she baby sat) will fondly remember her as Mama Cope. She loved doing "girls night out" with her very special friends and enjoyed volunteering at the Rohr Home where she would later be lovingly tended to as a resident. Family will receive friends Friday, October 7, 2011, 10-11 AM at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
