Paula Jean Joyner (Kunberger) November 17, 1963 - June 3, 2026, Paula Jean Joyner, lovingly known as "Gigi" by those who cherished her most, passed away on June 3, 2026, at the age of 63. Born on November 17, 1963, Paula lived a life filled with laughter, love, friendship, and devotion to the people she loved the most. She was a proud graduate of FMHS, Class of 1981, where she was a three-sport letterman and actively involved in numerous clubs and activities. Paula later honorably served in the United States Marine Corps, working in basic aircraft maintenance. Her military service reflected the strength, dedication, and perseverance that would become hallmarks of her character throughout her life. The friendships and memories she made during those years remained important to her throughout her life. Paula was first and foremost a mother, grandmother (GiGi), daughter, sister, aunt, partner, and friend. Her greatest joy came from being near the people she loved. She is survived by her daughter, Emily Jean Armstrong and her husband Chris Armstrong; her grandchildren, Alyssa, Keelan, and Laila; her siblings, David William and his wife Bobbie Jean Kunberger; her nephew, David R.; and her nieces, Amanda, Megan, and Jo; and her partner Lisa Bryley and family; Sherry, Jessi, & Elliot. She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Frank Long Kunberger and Betty Jo Kunberger. Those who knew Paula will remember her goofy sense of humor, her generous spirit, and her enormous heart. She had a gift for making people laugh and feel welcome, and she treasured time spent with family and friends. She loved fishing, relaxing at the beach, and creating memories with the people she cared about most. Paula's warmth, strength, and love touched countless lives. She will be remembered not only for the joy she brought to others but for the lasting impact she made on everyone, fortunate enough to know her. In lieu of flowers, Paula requests that memorial donations can be made to any charity of your choosing, specifically ones that hold a special place in your heart. Paula will be cremated. Her family plans to celebrate her life with a casual gathering filled with stories, laughter, and the people she loved most. This ceremony will be held at McLean Funeral Home in Fort Meade, FL on Thursday, June 11th, 2026, from 5:00pm - 8:00pm. Her ashes will be scattered in the Gulf waters near Anna Maria Island, a place that held special meaning to her. As Paula requested, friends and loved ones are encouraged to share their favorite memories of her, helping preserve the stories, laughter, and love that defined her life. "She will be long remembered for her wonderful sense of humor and her great big heart."
