Paul E. Morris, Sr.

Rev. Paul Everette Morris, Sr., age 87, of Lakeland, FL passed away January 11, 2010. Born August 25, 1922 in Carroll County, Georgia to Charles S. Morris and Dera Elsie Lively Morris. Paul was a member of First United Methodist Church in Bartow, FL; a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during WWII and retired from active ministry after 45 years of service with the Florida United Methodist Conference. Preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife Ann, his brothers Henry, Radford, and Frank; his sisters Opal, Betty, Alice and Lenett; he is survived by his brother James of Carrollton, GA, by 3 sons, Paul E. Morris, Jr. of Wesley Chapel, FL., Thomas S. Morris of Orlando, FL., and Charles A. Morris of Smyrna, TN; 4 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren. Arrangements are being handled by Whidden-McLean Funeral Home, 650 East Main Street in Bartow, where the family will receive friends from 5 to 7 pm Wednesday, January 13, 2010. Funeral service will be at First United Methodist Church, 455 S. Broadway in Bartow at 11:00 am Thursday, January 14, 2010, Interment will be at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL.
