Patsy B. Thagard

Mrs. Patsy B. Thagard, age 58, passed away from cancer Friday, December 12, 2008 in Lakeland. Born February 16, 1950 in Bartow, Patsy was a lifelong area resident. Mrs. Thagard worked for the Polk County School Board for 31 years as a Food Service Specialist and Teacher. She was a graduate of F.S.U. and a Protestant. She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Terry Thagard, her son Jason Thagard (Robin) of Orlando, her parents Earl and Dot Birge of Bartow, her mother-in-law Mary Beasley of Winter Haven, one brother J. Timothy Birge (Margaret) of Eagle Lake, three sisters; Peggy Thagard (Doug) of Bartow, Polly Scott (Hugh) of Fort Meade, and Pam Parrish also of Bartow. She also leaves behind a granddaughter Allison Thagard and numerous nieces and nephews. Arrangements are being handled by Whidden-McLean Funeral Home 650 East Main Street in Bartow where family will receive friends Fri. December 19th from 10-11 AM. Services will follow at 11:00 Am at the funeral home chapel. In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to the American Cancer Society 809 South Florida Ave. Lakeland, FL 33801.
