Oscar Vernon Clyatt, Jr., age 77, a native of Fort Meade, FL, died Wednesday, May 2, 2007, at Lakeland Regional Medical Center from a battle with cancer. Mr. Clyatt owned and operated Clyatt Appraisal Services for 44 years, previous to starting his own business in the private sector he was a registered land surveyor and the Chief Appraiser for the State Road Department. Along with his work Mr. Clyatt enjoyed his hunting and fishing adventures. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Fort Meade. He was also a Founder & Charter Member of AAHA and he captivated people with his story telling ability. Mr. Clyatt was a past Rotary Club Member and He Served in the Marine Corps during the Korean War.

Eight grandchildren; Mary Royer, Morgan Clyatt, Courtney Barnett, David Barnett, Bethany Jacobs, John Edward Newbern, Emily Newbern, and Natalie Newbern.
Two great-grandchildren; Dalton Royer and Riley Granger.
Arrangements are being handled by McLean Funeral Home, 306 East Broadway, Fort Meade, FL, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, May 4, 2007. Funeral service will be at The First Baptist Church at 11:00 AM Saturday, May 5, 2007 , Rev. Kenny Slay officiating. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Fort Meade, FL.
