Opal C. Owen

Opal C. Owens 79 of Alturas passed away on Saturday, May 23 at her residence from complications of Alzheimer's Disease. A native of Georgia she moved to the area at the age of 16. Opal was a Caregiver in the Health Industry and of the Baptist Faith. She was a avid Dart Player and enjoyed Quilting and Fishing. A beloved mother and grandmother she will be missed. Opal was preceded in death by her parents William and Ora Moody; Husband Otis Owens; Companion John Kusicko; Son Jerry Owens and a grandaughter Karen Michelle Radford. She is survived by Daughter Florence and Don Sherwood of Winter Haven; Son Karl and Kathleen Owens of Sarasota; Daughter Debbie and Kenny Harrell of Bartow; Daughter Brenda and Frank Stinson of Bartow; Daughter Barbara and Ronnie Reed of Fort Meade; Daughter Belinda Howard of Lake Placid and numerous grandchildren; great grandchildren and great great great grandchildren. A vistation will be held on Tuesday, May 26th from 6-8pm at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home in Bartow with Funeral Services on Wednesday at 10am at the Funeral Home.
