Oleda P. Wickersheim

Fort Meade- Oleda D. Wickersheim passed from this earthly life into the arms of Jesus on Monday, July 4th. Oleda was born on January 9, 1920 in Kentucky and moved to Winter Haven at the age of 6. Oleda was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Ed Wickersheim, her parents Marvin and Mary Darnell, brothers James and Eugene Darnell, sister Marie Joiner and her precious granddaughter, Olivia DeVane. She is survived by a brother, Kenneth Darnell from Winter Haven, sons Charles Wickersheim, wife Suzanne from Winter Haven, Jerry Wickersheim, wife Pat from Fort Meade and daughter Carol Allen and fiancé' Monnie Ethridge of Lakeland. Grandchildren Michael Wickersheim, Marla Spradlin and husband Jon, Sarah Allen, and Step grandsons David and Matt Fitzwater; great grandchildren Brian, Carson, and Jordan Spradlin and Haleigh, Mason, Emmalee, and Colby DeVane. Also a step grandchild Liam Fitzwater, and many wonderful friends. She was an avid Tampa Bay Rays fan and was a recipient of the Dream Foundation award and even attended a Rays game last week. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Thursday, July 7th at the First United Methodist Church in Fort Meade and 11:00 am. Family visitation will be at 10:30 am.
