Norman J. Bourque

Norman J. Bourque, age 86, of Bartow, FL, died Sunday, June 1, 2008, at Lakeland Regional Medical Center. Mr. Bourque was born March 11, 1922 in New Bedford, MA. He served in the Navy during World War II. Mr. Bourque was a partner with Du-All Engineering where he worked as a machinist. He was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Bartow. Mr. Bourque was an avid square dancer. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Alfred, Albert, and Rene Bourque. He is survived by his wife of 53 years Evelyn Bourque of Bartow, four daughters; Kathleen and husband Kenneth Pelland of Fairhaven, MA, Carol and husband Emilio Ponz of Wellington, FL, Joann Bourque of Acushnet, MA, and Judith and husband Bryant Bernier of Acushnet, MA, three sons; Steven J. Bourque of Acushnet, MA, Thomas and wife Debra Bourque of Fairhaven, MA, and James Bourque of Warwick, RI, three sisters; Anita DiGiacomo of New Bedford, MA, Loretta Procopio of Forestdale, MA, and Annette Rainbolt of Jenka, OK, one brother; Raymond Bourque of New Bedford, MA. He also leaves behind nine grandchildren; Jason & Ryan Pelland, Samantha & Carly Ponz, Dustin Bourque, Krystine Rachel, Jacob, Buck and Cheyenne Bernier, and three great-grandchildren; Bailey Pelland, Bryant and Brooklynn Rachel. Arrangements are being handled by Whidden-McLean Funeral Home, 650 East Main Street, Bartow, Fla., where the family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday, June 3, 2008. Funeral service will be at Saint Thomas Catholic Church at 10:00 AM Wednesday, June 4, 2008.
