Norma Jean Meyer

Bartow – Norma Jean (Emhoff) Corporon Meyer, age 85, passed away on August 26, 2026, at her residence in Bartow, Florida. She was born on June 4, 1941, in Hampton, Iowa, to Howard and Bernice (Bird) Emhoff. Norma was a stay-at-home mother during the early years of her marriage and returned to work once her children were older. Throughout the years, she enjoyed camping and fishing with family and friends. She especially loved spending time with those she cared about, taking pontoon rides, being around animals, and escaping the cold Iowa winters to enjoy life in Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 45 years Marvin Corporon, sister Darlene Jones (Don), son in law Mark Spangler, nephew Steve Jones, and stepson in law Mark Dannen. She is survived by her husband of 11 years Merlin Meyer and dog Sugar of Bartow, daughter Terry Spangler of Mankato, MN and son Todd Corporon (Laurie) of Buffalo Center, Iowa. Three grandchildren and four great grandchildren Shelby Hanna (Andrew), Kaylee & Hudson of Buffalo Center, Iowa, Garrison Spangler (Joeliz Roman) of Mankato, MN, Tate Corporon (Skylar), Grayson and Gertie of Spirit Lake, Iowa. Three Stepchildren Randy Meyer (Deb) of Sheffield, Iowa, Julie Olson (Randy) of Mason City, Iowa. Two Step grandchildren and 6 step great grandchildren Eric Meyer (Britnee) , Anthany & Owen of Sheffield, Iowa, Ashley Francis (Shawn), Sydney Hienz, Londynn, Jadyn, And Paxton Francis of Sheffield, Iowa, Josh Dannen (Amanda), Vinny, Emmett & Amelia of Rockwill. Family will receive friends Tuesday, September 1, 2026, from 2:00 PM - 2:30 PM at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home, Bartow. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at 2:30 PM at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home. An additional service will be held in Iowa at a later date.
