Nils Hendrick, 46, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away on December 19, 2022, following a brief but valiant battle with brain cancer. He was born on January 15, 1976, to Don & Irmgard Hendrick in Berlin, Germany. Nils spent most of his childhood in rural Polk County enjoying the outdoors, but he was especially fond of riding and working with horses, and team-penning. As an adult, he loved outdoor activities in the mountains, especially snowboarding. After graduating from Grace Lutheran School and Winter Haven High School, Nils spent the summer at the Goethe Institute in Berlin, Germany, to improve his German fluency. He then attended Bethany College where he earned a degree in accounting and finance. He had an entrepreneurial spirit and was involved with various business enterprises. Nils is survived by his best friend and devoted wife, Rachael; his loving parents; his siblings, Karsten Hendrick and Krista (Alex) Mahalak; and his nephews, Madden and Sigmund ("Ziggy"). Nils led a quiet, mindful, and active life with Rachael at his side. She fondly remembers their deep conversations, as well as his patient and loving nature. Nils had a close relationship with his extended family, and he cherished his friendships. Nils will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and colleagues. His life will be celebrated in a private memorial service in Jacksonville.
