Nell Butler Caison, 93, passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at Good Shepherd Hospice in Auburndale, Florida after a brief illness. She was born and raised in Roseboro, North Carolina where her father owned and operated several general stores. Nell moved to Lakeland, Florida to attend Florida Southern College where she obtained her associates degree before returning to North Carolina and starting a family. She later returned to Florida and as a Methodist minister’s wife, she spent several years working in many churches statewide. She continued to serve the Lord as Secretary at Trinity United Methodist Church in Bradenton. She was also active with the Florida Methodist Conference, served on many church committees and volunteered her time with other church related activities. Even though she lived in Florida most of her adult life, she still called Roseboro home. She loved her trips back home to visit her sisters and extended family and always had stories to tell. She enjoyed her time at the beach in Anna Maria and loved gardening, cooking and being around people. But above all, her family and her faith were most important to her. She was a special lady to many. Nell will be greatly missed but will live forever in our hearts. Nell is proceeded in death by her parents: Walter Claude Caison and mother Nellie Elizabeth Butler Caison, and three sisters: Heidi Harris, Lou Caison, and Audrey Bridger. Nell is survived by three daughters: Nell Nelson, Alice Groves (Karen), Angela Crews, one son: Woody Groves (Erica), three grandchildren: Chris Nelson (Julie), Steven Nelson (Heather), Audra Froom (Paul), and four great grandchildren: Riley, Ella, Liam and Hal. A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date. The family requests, in lieu of flowers, please make donations in loving memory of Nell B. Caison to the Good Shepard Hospice, 450 Arneson Avenue, Auburndale, Florida 33823.
