Nancy Dorothy Boney Lee

April 23, 1940 — January 6, 2024

Lakeland- Nancy Dorothy Boney Lee, age 83, passed away January 6, 2024, at her residence in Lakeland. She was born on April 23, 1940, in Columbia, South Carolina. She was preceded in death by her late husband, Alfred Carl Lee, Sr. and her oldest daughter, Nancy (Angie) Virginia Lee. She is survived by her daughters Melanie Joyce Garrison and Tammy Louise Murray (Robert), son Alfred Carl Lee, Jr. (Lori), brother John Durham Boney, Jr, and half-sister Florence Scarborough. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, Timothy Andrew Rappoccio, (Sheryl), Kimberly Renee Rappoccio, Kenneth James Garrison, Jr., (Carol), Daniel Alexander Garrison (Megan), Joshua Lee Garrison, (Jennifer), Rachael Lynn Rubles, Rebecca Carla Lee, Heather Ariel Summerlin (Thomas), Brandon Alyks Lee, Kathrine Paige Holton, Jamie Lynn Murray, Paige Elaine Murray, and 13 great grandchildren. As a child, Nancy enjoyed reading the dictionary and encyclopedias in lieu of playing with toys. This is where she got her passion for crossword puzzles. She loved playing the piano and singing songs of praise in the car. Throughout her life, she served as a legal assistant, a medical records transcriptionist, a childcare administrator, ordained minister, and a prison and jail chaplain. She started several churches and believed her calling in life was to find one more soul to guide into the kingdom of Heaven. She dedicated her life to helping others, from the fortunate to the lowliest homeless or drug addict by offering counsel and care in her own home. She once purchased a small steel shed (Victory Is Yours Ministries) and rented out a store front to make a coffee house to provide a place for others to be safe, warm and hear God’s word. Her teachings helped others to build a relationship with Jesus and have their life forever changed. She would tell those she helped, loved, and cared about, “I better see you in heaven, no excuses!” In this way, she would let everyone know that God loves them no matter what. The family is thankful for the love and support received from family and friends over the last several months. Ms. Terry Sumner is especially appreciated, as she helped care for Nancy over the last year and developed a special bond with her and our family. Her love and care exceeded what anyone would expect. Family will receive friends on Saturday, January 13, 2024 from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home in Bartow, and the funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM. Interment will be held at Oak Hill Burial Park in Lakeland. Condolences to the family can be placed at www.whiddenmcleanfuneralhome.com
