M.J. "Mack" Strickland

M.J. "Mack" Strickland, age 74, passed away Sunday, August 3, 2014 at Bartow Regional Medical Center of heart failure. Born February 17, 1940 in Bartow, Mr. Strickland was lifelong resident of the area. He was the owner of Strickland Steel Erection Service for 40 years. He was a U.S. Marine veteran, a 32nd Degree Mason and a Shriner. Mr Strickland was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Virginia R. Strickland. Mr. Strickland was survived by his daughter; Ronda L. Butler; his only granddaughter, Jenna L. Butler; a brother Ira Strickland, Jr. all of Bartow. two sisters: Frances Locke of Bartow; and Margaret Skipper of Fort Meade. Family will receive friends Thursday, August 7, 2014 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home, Bartow. Funeral services will be held Friday, August 8, 2014, at 10:00 AM at the funeral home.
