Mildred Edie Bruce

Bartow- Mildred Edie Bruce, 93, passed away Friday, December 1, 2017 at Grace Healthcare of Lake Wales. She was born September 9, 1924 in Brewster, FL, she was a lifelong residence of the area. She was a loan officer for Bartow Federal Saving and Loan Corporation for many years She was a member of Main Street Baptist Church, Bartow. She was a Worthy Matron with the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Eugene Bruce, Jr. She is survived two sons; Gene Bruce, III (Debbie) of Lake Wales and Jim Bruce (Elisa) of Troy , AL, daughter; Cheryl Bruce Kragh, Boston, MA, nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Family will receive friends Thursday, December 7, 2017 from 10 to 11 am at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home in Bartow. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 am at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home. Interment will be held at Wildwood Cemetery in Bartow, FL.
