Michael J. McCabe, 62, formerly of Tampa, Fl and East Newark, NJ, passed away peacefully, on November 14, 2018. Mike was a unique person who lived life on his own terms. Strong willed, determined and adventurous, and a bit of a mischief maker. He was preceded in death by his parents Michael and Joan McCabe and is survived by his Son, Michael G. McCabe, Loveland, CO, Daughters, Brandy L Friedman, Mesa, AZ and Kelly McCabe, Waterford CT, Brothers, Brothers, Thomas McCabe of Bartow, FL Steven McCabe, Brandon, FL, Douglas McCabe, Tampa, FL, David McCabe, Brandon FL Sister, Patricia McCabe, Brandon, his cousin Cissy, Tampa, FL Grandson, Zachary Friedman, Mesa AZ. many nieces, nephews family and friends.Mike held many interest in life, he enjoyed photography, he enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. He worked on cars and at one point in his life he drove a cab. His good looks and his charm he could easily befriend anyone. His life was forever altered when he was struck by a car driven by a 16 year old driver. Under normal conditions this would have ended the life of anyone else. Mike's fighting spirit, stubbornness and his will to continue motivated him into recovering. With recent visits with him, he displayed such a remarkable improvement in all areas of wellness. He displayed motor skills that were non-existent, he had a best friend at the Nursing Home. And he had his following of nurses and care givers who also took great care of him. I would like to extend my heartfelt appreciation to the wonderful staff at the Baywood Nursing Center who for over 20 years took wonder care of Mike. Let Mike be remembered in the way you want to remember him. He made no excuses, he lived his life his way and never let any one thing or anyone stand in his way.
