Winter Haven - Melvin LeMay, age 67, passed away July 3, 2021, at Winter Haven Hospital. He was born on January 2, 1954, in Winter Haven, FL to Jack LeMay & Opal (Lyles) LeMay. Mr. LeMay was a lifelong resident of Winter Haven. He was a Fruit Harvester/Truck Driver in the citrus industry. He was a member of Truckers for Christ Ministries. He enjoyed playing the drums, country music, fishing, and spending time with family. He also had a green thumb which led to many successful years of growing gardens, harvesting vegetables and selling watermelons. Most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren and earned the title World's Best Papa with pride. He had many good memories playing the guitar or hanging on the front porch with his friends who turned into brothers Jimmy Goodwin, Joey Hill, Mike Hemby, Jackie Vann and Brother Bob. He was preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter Heaven LeMay, sister Helen "Nadine" Trump, niece Glenda LeMay, brother's Roy LeMay, and Eugene Landtroop. He is survived by a loving family that includes the love of his life and wife of over 40 years Donna LeMay of Winter Haven, daughters Rebecca Edminson of Bartow & Tracy LeMay of Chattanooga, TN, sons Jimmy "J.J." LeMay of Winter Haven, Justin LeMay of Winter Haven, Melvin LeMay of Chattanooga, TN, nephew like a son R.V. Hood, grandchildren Jerricka Peterson of Bartow, Nathan Bland of Bartow, Khorlee Edminson of Bartow, Josiah LeMay of Winter Haven, brother Jason "J.C." Lemay of Winter Haven and his cousin's and lifelong best friend's Bonnie Williams and Jimmy LeMay of Winter Haven. Family will receive friends Thursday, July 15, 2021, from 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home, Bartow. Funeral Service will follow at 2:00 PM at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home.
