Melba Ellis Dix

Melba Ellis Dix, age 77, passed away Monday, March 20, 2023. She was born July 24, 1945 in Berry, AL to Travis & Mamie Ellis. She was a Social Worker with the State of Florida and retired after 32 years. During her time working with the State, she also served as the President and a board member for PHHASE (Polk, Highlands, Hardee Aids Support Education). Melba was a lifelong member of Highlands Church of Christ. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Michael Dix of Lakeland, daughters Michele Jewett (Larry) of Bartow, Maria Williams (Byron) of Lakeland, Julie Burr (Bill) of Jacksonville, grandchildren, Jacob Bird, Jeremiah Bird, Travis Osborne, Niki Osborne, Jaeden Williams and Bree Williams along with numerous nieces, nephews & cousins. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 am, Saturday, March 25, 2023 at Highlands Church of Christ, 5730 Lakeland Highlands Road in Lakeland, FL.
