Homeland - Maxine S. Wilson, 57, passed away Thursday, July 24, 2014 at Good Shepherd Hospice in Auburndale of liver failure. Born January 16, 1957 in Adel, GA, Mrs. Wilson was a resident of Homeland for 27 years, moving from Fort Meade. She was a member of the Apostolic Church of Willow Oak . Mrs. Wilson is preceded in death by her parents: Payton Sheldon Skinner and Mary Skinner Hancock, three brothers: Benny, J.P. and Bryant Skinner and one sister: Dorothy Webb. She is survived by her husband, Danny J Wilson, Homeland, FL; two sons: Charles Ray, Homeland and Jason Combess (Mary), Winter Haven; daughter: Tammy Ray Shelley (Donnie), Dothan, AL two step daughters: April Wilson, and Ronda Wilson both of Mulberry; three grandchildren: Joshua Creech, Katy Creech and Brittany Combess; brother: Lucious Skinner (Linda), Wimauma, FL; sister: Francis Miley (James), Fort Meade, and numerous nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends Sunday, July 27, 2014, 3:00 - 5:00 PM at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home, Bartow. Funeral Services will be held Monday at 10:00 AM at the Apostolic Church of Willow Oak, 3680 Old Hwy 60, Willow Oak. Interment will be held at Homeland Cemetery, Homeland.
