Mavis Y. Farris

Fort Meade - Mavis Y. Farris, age 72, passed away Sunday, June 3, 2018 at her residence in Fort Meade. Born June 1, 1946 in Frostproof, FL, Mrs. Farris was a longtime resident of Fort Meade. She was a cafeteria worker with the Polk County Schools for over ten years. Along with her parents, Dewey Youngblood and Marie Cribbs Cox, Mrs. Farris is preceded in death by her husband: Garvie Farris and a daughter: Sherry Wolven. She is survived by two daughters: Yvonne Hancock (Carson) and Angela Farris, both of Fort Meade; a sister: Vickie Tillman of Jensen Beach, FL; brothers: David Pollard, Fort Meade, Kenny Pollard, Bartow; Lonnie Youngblood, Lloyd Youngblood Vernon Youngblood, Mike Youngblood, Glenn Youngblood, Ralph Youngblood, Larry Youngblood and Dale Youngblood, all of Avon Park, FL, her step mother: Jessie Youngblood, of Avon Park, 4 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Family will receive friends Friday, June 8, 2018 from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM at McLean Funeral Home, Fort Meade with funeral services following at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment will be held at Evergreen Cemetery, Fort Meade.
