Mary C. Werner

Mary Wojteczko Werner, age 92, passed away Friday, June 3, 2016 in Auburndale. Born November 21, 1923 in Alturas, she was the daughter of the late William and Rosa Wojteczko. Mary was a lifelong Alturas resident and worked in the citrus and cattle industries for many years. She was a longtime member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Bartow and a lifetime member of the Alturas Women's Club. Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her siblings and granddaughter Yvonne Kennedy. She is survived by her daughter Mary Lou Young of Alturas, her son Bob Werner (Ruth Ann) of Lakeland along with eight grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren.. The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 5th from 6pm to 8pm at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home in Bartow. Funeral services will follow on Monday, June 6th at 11:00am at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 2180 South Kissingen Ave. in Bartow.
