Mary Watson Smith

Mrs. Mary W. Smith, age 88, died Monday, June 7, 2010. Born June 3, 1922 in Houston County, Alabama, Mrs. Smith was the daughter of the late Dee Davis Watson and Lethan S. Watson. As a young lady, Mrs. Smith worked as a nurse at the Donaldsonville Hospital in Donaldsonville, Georgia. She also was employed by Johnnie Williams Chicken Farm in Malone, FL. From there she worked for and retired from the deli department at the IGA store also in Malone. Mrs. Smith was also a member of the Bascom Assembly of God in Malone. Along with her parents, Mrs. Smith is also preceded in death by her husband, Jessie Smith. She is survived by her sister, Louise Jackson of Bartow, five nieces; Samalene Muir (Rick) of Bartow, Eyvonne Landon (Jack) of Lakeland, Glenda Mears (Carl E. "Skip") of Bartow, Wanda Tyson (Mike) of Bartow, Sherry Warren also of Bartow, and nephew Rickey Jackson (Tammy) of Lakeland. She also leaves behind eleven great nieces and nephews and ten great great nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Friday from 10 to 11am at the Bascom Assembly of God in Bascom, FL.
