Mary J. Schneider

Lakeland - Mary Jane Schneider (nee Gunther), age 76, passed away on August 7, 2026, at her residence in Lakeland. She was born on February 23, 1950, in Holcomb, MO. She retired as an administrative assistant in the public education system. She enjoyed genealogy, traveling, and being involved in children's ministry at church. She was preceded in death by her sister, Karen Akins and her parents, Nathan and Betty Gunther. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Herschel Schneider Jr. of Lakeland; her daughters: LaSondra Schneider (Giuseppe Giardina) of Valledoria, Sardinia, Italy; Ashleigh Schneider (Allen Michaud) of Stuart; Erin Schneider (Chris Gamlin) of Wildwood, MO; and brother Michael Gunther (Maggie) of Dixon, MO. Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, August 15, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Highlands Church of Christ. Interment will be held at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell.
