Mary "Fay" Mayfield

Bartow - Mary "Fay" Mayfield, age 91, passed away February 7, 2024, in Bartow. She was born on November 12, 1932, in Faceville, GA. She was a Homemaker. She was a member of Peace Creek Baptist Church . She was incredibly involved with music, which included playing many instruments, song writing and teaching piano. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents William & Mattie Lou (Cannon) Kornegay, husband William Mayfield, brother William Ray Kornegay, sister Mattie Lou, son in law Ron Porter. She is survived by a loving family that includes her daughters Mary Legg Porter of Lake Wales, Cheryl Carlton (Pat) of Duette & Kim Wilson (Wade) of Bartow, brother George "Tumpy" Kornegay (Doris) of Thomasville, GA, grandchildren Candace Fay Whisenant, Ian Legg ,Nathan Legg, William Carlton, William Wilson, Fay Nicole Wilson & Jeremy Casella, 14 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. Family will receive friends Thursday, February 15, 2024, from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home, Bartow. Funeral service will be held Thursday, February 15, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home. Interment will be held at Wildwood Cemetery, Bartow.
