Mary Lou Mathews

Mrs. Mary Lou Mathews, age 90, passed away from natural causes, Thursday, June 24, 2010 at Savannah Court in Bartow. Mrs. Mathews was born on March 28, 1920 in Honoraville, Alabama. She was a longtime resident of Bartow and a member of Lake Garfield Baptist Church. Mrs. Mathews worked at Lake Garfield Citrus Co-op.. for over 30 years. She is preceded in death by her husband, Eric Mathews. She is survived by her daughter, Joyce M. Arnold of Fort Meade, her grandchildren; Becky Pate (Daniel) of Bartow, and Jay Porter (Teresa) of Fort Meade. She also leaves behind her great grandchildren; Tiffany Porter, Dustin Kincaid, Trey Porter, Bailey Pate, and her sister Doris Rogers of Luverne, AL. The family will receive friends Saturday from 2pm to 3pm at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home, 650 East Main Street in Bartow. Funeral services will follow at 3:00pm at the funeral home chapel.
