Marvin Oakley

Bartow- Marvin Oakley, age 76, died Friday, July 18, 2008, at Lakeland Regional Medical Center of cancer. Born July 13, 1932 in Roxboro, NC, Mr. Oakley was a longtime resident of Bartow. He was a Lab Foreman for IMC Phosphate for 33 yrs. He was an Air Force veteran; a member of the American Legion Post #3 Bartow. He is survived by 3 sons: Martin Oakley; Miles & his wife Polly Oakley & Mike Oakley, all of Bartow; 1 sister: Wilma Mae Walker of Roxboro; 2 grandsons: Miles Lewis Oakley & David Michael Oakley both of Bristill, TN; granddaughter: Morgan Lane Oakley of Lakeland. There will be a gathering of family & friends, Monday (today), July 21, 2008, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home, Bartow. Interment will be held in North Carolina at a later date.
