Marty J. Wilson, Sr.

Marty J. Wilson, Sr., age 65, passed away Monday, October 10, 2022. He was born July 3, 1957, in Chattahoochee, Fl, to Marion and Joyce Wilson. Marty was a salesman for Bartow Ford for over 28 years. He started his career working for Myrick’s Men Shop in Lakeland; then he worked for White’s Men Store in Bartow before joining Bartow Ford. He was a past member of the Bartow Lions Club and the Bartow Chamber of Commerce. He attended Heartland Church of Winter Haven. Being named Salesman of the Year numerous times in his career was one of his great accomplishments, but being a great husband and father is what he will be remembered for. He is preceded in death by his father Marion Wilson. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Jan Wilson of Bartow; son “MJ” Wilson, Jr. and wife Ashley of Bartow; mother Joyce Wilson of Tallassee, AL; sister Belinda Mulder and husband Charles of Tallassee, AL; granddaughter Quinn; sister-in-law Genie Belcher and husband Keith of Winter Haven; nephew Jeremy Aldridge of Montgomery, AL. Family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 am Saturday, October 15, 2022, at Heartland Church, 225 Avenue B NW in Winter Haven. Funeral service will follow at 11:00 am.
