Martha Luckie Snell

Martha "Jo" Luckie Snell, age 89 passed away Thursday, August 29, 2013 at Good Shepherd Hospice of Auburndale from complications of Alzheimer's disease. Born March 27, 1924 in Homeland, where she was lifelong resident, she was a graduate of Summerlin Institute and a member of Alpha Chi Sorority at Florida Southern College in Lakeland. Mrs. Snell was the organist and pianist at the Homeland Methodist Church for over 30 years. After the church's induction to Homeland Heritage Park, she attended the First United Methodist Church of Bartow. Mrs. Snell was a loving and devoted wife of 50 years to her late husband Ralph Snell. She was also preceded in death by her parents Joe & Lillian Luckie. Mrs. Snell is survived by her three children; Wayne Snell (Leah), Susan Walker (Tim), Steve Snell (Melanie), five grandchildren Chris Snell (Tracy), Jodi Snell, Ethan Walker (Mayra), Reuben Walker, Guy Snell, and three great grandchildren, Paisley, Hunter, and Aiden. The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 4th from 10:30am to 11:00am at the Homeland Methodist Church in Homeland. Funeral services will follow at 11:00am at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Bartow, c/o the building fund, or Good Shepherd Hospice in Auburndale. Co
