Martha Horn

Lakeland - Martha Horn, age 92, passed away June 26, 2022, at Arbor Oaks at Lakeland Hills. A native Floridian, Martha was born on January 2, 1930. After decades of dedicating her time to her husband and family, she knew she had more to give to her community, so instead of retiring, she became a Bus Driver for Polk County Public Schools. Her role as a bus driver was very rewarding, and she always had stories to tell about her interactions with students. Martha was an avid reader and loved sewing and doing seamstress work for friends and family. But perhaps, most of all, she loved spending time with her family and being updated on the smallest details of everyone's lives. She was preceded in death by her husband- William Horn, son- Kenneth Horn, sisters- Dorothy Harrison and Melba Clark, and her brother- Carlton Gramling. She is survived by a loving family that includes: her daughters Sandra Graham (Michael) & Shirley Phillips (Jimmy), son Gregory Horn (Yanie), grandchildren Heath Griffith, Brock Griffith, Susan Kranitz, Jennifer Horn, Marissa Horn, Brittany Bennanati, Michael Phillips, Melissa Watson, Sarah King, Lacey Solice, Zachary Horn, 24 great grandchildren, six great-great grandchildren, and many nieces & nephews. A funeral service will be held Friday, July 1, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home. Interment will be held at Wildwood Cemetery, Bartow.
