Marlene Mcclintock Morris

Marlene McClintock Morris passed away May 13, 2023, at Trinity Elms Assisted Living Center in Clemmons, NC. She was 86. Born August 31, 1936, in Pierre, South Dakota, she was a longtime Bartow resident. She graduated from Bartow High School (Summerlin Institute) in 1954. After attending nursing training for one year at Charity Hospital in New Orleans, Marlene married an Air Force officer and spent over 20 years traveling the globe. She spent those years active in base activities and raising her two children. In 1990, Marlene returned to Bartow where she lived until 2017. She was a member of McLeod Memorial Presbyterian Church. She was also active with a bridge group and classmates from her high school days. She is preceded in death by her parents, Walter O. McClintock, and Margaret S. McClintock. She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer M. Sauer of Virginia, and her son John H. Morris III and his wife Susan of Lewisville, NC and four grandchildren; Michael Sauer (Julia), Kristen Mann (Christian), Patrick Sauer and Olivia Miller, as well as two adorable great grandsons who visited her just 10 days before her death, John Michael Sauer and Henry Sauer. Visitation for Marlene will be Thursday, June 15 from 11:00 to 11:30 AM at McLeod Memorial Presbyterian Church 695 West Stuart Street, Bartow. Services will follow at 11:30 AM at the church.
