Mark S. Tanner

Mark S. Tanner , age 62, passed away Monday, August 28, 2017 in Tampa. Born April 28, 1955 in Fairmont, WV, he was the son of the late C.H. and Marjorie (Pierce) Tanner. Mr. Tanner was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Mark worked for Hillsborough County for many years as a carpenter. Along with his parents, Mr. Tanner is preceded in death by his son, Jonathan Tanner in 1985. He is survived by a loving family that includes his wife, of 38 years, Meg Tanner of Seffner, his three children: Jennifer Bleil (Ian) of Ruskin, Megan Xoumphonphakdy (Andy) of Lithia, and Steven Tanner (Amanda) of Lithia. Mark also leaves behind his siblings: Traci Fiveash (Jim) of Bartow, Carol L. Vieria (Edward) of Modesto, CA, David A. Tanner (Ava) of Lakeland, Jeffery L. Tanner (Kristen G. Storms) of Winter Haven, and his six grandchildren: Jonathan, Noah, Abigail, Isabella, Liam, and Zayden. A celebration of his life service will be held on Saturday, September 2nd at 10:00am at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home, 650 East Main Street in Bartow, FL.
