Mark James Piburn

Mark James Piburn, 33, son of Mr. & Mrs. Mark and Judi Piburn was hit and killed instantly on Saturday, February 15, 2014 by a passing motorist while walking to the store near their residence. From high school, Mark earned an Associate Degree in Film & Video production from Full Sail University, Orlando. After being stricken with a debilitating disease at age 25, he forged a brave path of living his life with new challenges and appreciation for various employment that could facilitate his disability. Mark's wife, parents, family, & friends grieve the loss of their generous and gentle hearted man who was gifted with a great sense of humor, creativity, compassion, and remarkable intelligence. Mark is survived by his wife, Wendy Shofner, Lakeland, FL; his father & mother, Mark & Judi Piburn, Alturas; sister Marci Miller, Lakeland; & maternal grandparents, Jim & Charldine Ayers, Alturas. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Ed & Rosalie Piburn. The family will receive friends for visitation Saturday, February 22, 2014, from 2:00-3:00 PM at Turning Point Worship Center, 1400 E. Georgia St, Bartow. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 PM at the Church with a memorial dinner immediately following the services.
