Maria D. Sizemore

Maria D. Sizemore, 91, died in Winter Haven, Florida on June 30, where she was a resident at the Spring Lake Rehabilitation Center. A native of Daytona Beach, she was born in her grandparents ocean side home on July 26, 1924. Married to her late husband, Byron K. Sizemore on December 2, 1945, she would then live in her much loved home that Byron built for them upon returning from his service in WW II. She resided in their home in Holly Hill untIl 2013. In the 1940's, Maria worked for the City of Holly Hill as a bookkeeper. After raising her children, she worked for Byron K. Sizemore's General Contracting business as his bookkeeper. She enjoyed biking with her children in her younger years and loved bowling in a coffee league in her 80's. Maria is survived by 4 children: Dr. Alan L. Sizemore (Deborah) of Winter Haven, Mrs. Donna Lexow (Mark) of Kingwood, Texas, the Rev. Paul C. Sizemore (Lisa) of Columbia, S.C. and Mrs. Sandra Hulse (Dwight) of Winter Haven. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren: Clay Sizemore, Preston Sizemore, Kristin Sizemore, Brian Sizemore, Stacey Dunbar, Jarred Hulse and 4 great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1205 Ridgewood Avenue, Holly Hill on Tuesday, July 5th @ 11:00 am. Entombment will follow at Shady Rest Cemetery, 1650 Moravia Ave., Holly Hill. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Good Shepherd Hospice, 105 Arneson Ave., Auburndale, Fl. 33823.
