With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Margie Marie Clark, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and educator, who departed this life on February 3, 2026, at the age of 79. Margie was born on November 28, 1946, in Phenix City, Alabama, to Raymond Brooks and Marie Jackson. She was a remarkable woman, whose love and strength was felt by family, friends, and neighbors.

Margie was preceded in death by her parents and her two brothers, Johnny and Jimmy Brooks. She is survived by her loving husband of over 50 years, Alfred Samuel Clark, and their cherished daughter, Brandy Clark, along with her daughter-in-law Lacy Emmerling. Margie also leaves behind her siblings, Sue McCreary, Celeste King, and Marshall Brooks, as well as her grandsons, Harper Clark and Derek Hoecherl, who brought her immense joy.

An accomplished scholar, Margie earned a Master's degree and dedicated much of her life to education. Her teaching career spanned high schools, middle schools, and college, where she taught math to a variety of students. Margie was accomplished in her career, earning the title of department chair.

Margie's family describes her as fearless; she was willing and able to teach herself anything, and she was ready to accept any new challenges her daughter and grandsons presented her with. She was an accomplished quilter, gardener and chef. She was passionate about current events. She was a voracious reader. She was slowly but surely improving at Settlers of Catan and even won a few games here and there.

Margie's fierce love for her family was evident in every aspect of her life, and she cherished the moments spent with her daughter and grandsons. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew her as a loving mother and wife, an inspiring teacher, and a friend to many.
