Margaret Jean Greer, 82, of Fort Meade, Florida passed peacefully surrounded by her family on November 25, 2011 following a hard fought 5 year battle with dementia. Mrs. Greer was born on April 25, 1929 and was the daughter of the late Virgil (retired Deputy Sheriff) and Iona (Van Dusen) Morgan of Sycamore, IL. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 59 years, Harry Winfield Greer (retired Mansfield Tire and Rubber Company) on December 22, 2006, originally of Bellville, Ohio; her parents; her sister Veda Maness; and her brother Virgil Morgan.
She is survived by her brother Leslie Morgan, sons David Allan Greer (retired Mansfield Correctional Institution) (spouse Brenda Joy (Harris) Greer and First Sergeant Richard Scott Greer (retired United States Army) (spouse Hyon Chu (Kim) Greer, both of Fort Meade, Florida. Grandson Staff Sergeant Christopher John Scott Greer (United States Army) (spouse Amanda Lynn (Lallathin) Greer, Grandson Petty Officer First Class Mark Ryan Greer (United States Navy) and Granddaughter Kimberly Morgan Greer (Full Sail University, Orlando, Florida). Great Grandson Gavin Patrick Willis Greer, Great Grandson Tye Anthony Bias and Great Grandson Maximus David Ryan Greer; and several beloved nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Greer was previously employed as an inspector at Essex Wire in Lexington, Ohio and Daugherty’s Family Restaurant of Mansfield, Ohio. She previously was a member of the Church of Christ of Bellville and a Women’s Auxiliary Member of the American Legion of Bellville. She will be remembered as an immaculate home maker and prized as a cake maker and decorator. Her hobbies included making ceramics and playing cards with her friends and family. As a good and kind person she will be sorely missed by her family, neighbors and friends….
Mrs. Greer will be placed to rest alongside her husband at the Bellville Cemetery, in Bellville, Ohio.
