Mae Brock Stephens

Mae Brock Stephens 80 of Bartow passed away January 30, 2014 at her residence from respiratory failure. A native of Norton, VA she moved to Bartow in 1964 from there. Mae worked as a Pre- K School Teacher at both the Whistle Stop and Gloryland Express Pre Schools in Bartow. She was also a homemaker and a member of the Faith Community Church in Bartow. She was a avid painter and enjoyed arts and video games. Mae was preceded in death by her son Danny Sturgill. She is survived by her two daughters Lawana Richardson (Milford) of Alturas and Martha Geisendorfer (Kenny) of Lakeland, son Dennis Sturgill (Lynn) of Alturas. Sister Edith Robinette of Wise, VA, brother Bethel J. Brock (Peggy) of Wise, Va. Eight grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Sunday, Feb. 2nd from 4 to 6 pm at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home with Services on Monday at 1:00 pm at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home, 650 East Main Street in Bartow, FL.
