Lula Mae Smith

Lula Mae Smith, age 98, passed away from natural causes on Sunday, July 13, 2014. Born March 19, 1916 in Wheeler County, GA, she was the daughter of the late W. A. and Lula Humphrey. Ms. Smith was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Bartow. She was also a member of the Bartow Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and the Kiwaniannes of Bartow. Lou worked for 38 years as an educator. Thirty of those years were spent at Bartow Elementary School. Lou is preceded in death by her husband J. Milton Smith and thirteen brothers and sisters. She is survived by many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 16th from 10 AM to 11 AM at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home in Bartow. Services will follow at 11:00 AM at the funeral home chapel.
