Lula “ Jeanette” Wells passed peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Mother’s Day, May 8, 2022. She was born on January 28, 1937, in Frostproof, Florida to Hiram “Vester” Snow and Emma Rettie Snow. Jeanette graduated from Frostproof High School in 1954 and furthered her education at Jones Business College in Orlando, FL. She retired in 2005 after working 45 years in the Property & Casualty Insurance field. She was the high school Head Drum Majorette, was crowned FFA Sweetheart, played Varsity basketball (scoring 21 points in the championship game, being the highest scorer), and she and her twin brother were voted “Most Talented” for their senior yearbook superlative. Jeanette owned her own dance studio in Frostproof, teaching tap, jazz, and ballet, and gave baton lessons. One of Jeanette’s favorite pastimes was playing the piano and singing with her daughters; mostly church hymns, but because she could play by ear, she also played songs from a variety of genres. She was also very involved in Miss Softball America, managing a team for many years, including the District Championship All-Star team. Jeanette was a devoted Christian and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bartow, FL. She loved and lived for her family, and especially loved her grands and great- grands. Jeanette is survived by her daughters, Melony Page Gaffney (Barry) and Macara Adams Parker (Jason), daughter ‘n law Joyce White, grandchildren; Erica White, J.A. Martin, III (Sunnie), Cassie Harrell (Jason), Ryan Lee, Kyle Lee (Miranda), Clay Parker, Shawna Elam (Eric), Heather Hadden (Gary), and Wendy Davis; great-grandchildren; Olivia, River, Grayson, Maverick, Ella, and McKinley. She is also survived by her twin brother Larry Snow (Donna). She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, husband of 37 years Harold Wells, son Jerry “Clay” Adams, and son Rocky Jay White. Jeanette’s family will forever carry her memories in their hearts and continue to honor her legacy of love and faith by having a celebration of her life on June 11, 2022, at 11am at the First Baptist Church in Bartow, FL.
