Louise Horn Smith

Louise Horn Smith, age 88, passed away Friday, October 7, 2022, in Winter Haven. Born October 11, 1933, in Live Oak , FL, she was the daughter of the late Will and Susie (Tidwell) Simmons. Mrs. Smith was a longtime member of the Church of God of Bartow. She retired for the Polk County School Board where she worked as a School Bus Driver for many years. Along with her parents, Louise was preceded in death by her first husband, Harold Horn, her son, Bruce Horn, her step-son, Quinton Dwaine Smith, Jr. She is survived by her husband, Quinton Dwaine "Q.D." Smith, Sr, her son, Randy Horn (Dawn), her daughter-in-laws, Penny Horn and Alison Smith, her siblings: Bobby Simmons, Lavon Anderson and Clarice Jones. She also leaves behind her grandchildren: Cory Horn (Keli), Kimberly Kneeland (Richie), Kelly Demire (Bruce), Skye Smith, Jacob Puleo, Michelle Mincey and seven great grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Friday, October 14th from 10am to 11am at the Church of God of Bartow, 1460 East Stuart St. in Bartow. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 am at the church.
