Louelle Mathis Roland of Homeland FL passed away August 3, 2010 of respiratory failure. Born November 24th 1923 in Nashville, GA to the late Reuben & Polly Taylor Mathis. She was a sectionizer for 19 years for Ben Hill Griffin Cannery of Bartow. She was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by one sister, Louise Ray Rawson of Bowling Green, FL & three brothers: Aubrey Mathis, Lankford Mathis of Nashville, GA & J.R. Mathis of Winter Park, FL .
She is survived by her husband of 66 years: Walton Roland of Homeland. Three daughters; Linda Eloise Sirois & husband Charlie of Lakeland; Janice Farris & husband James Ralph of Bartow & Judy Howard Henson & husband Rob of Alturas; three sisters: Ethel Lee Root & husband Bill of Wasdworth, OH; Norma Hall & Charlie Watts of Reynolds, GA; Vivian Merchant & husband Abdul of Marietta, GA ; five brothers: L.B. Mathis & wife Doris of Homeland; Wendell Mathis of Rome, Georgia; Onest Mathis & wife Francis of Stockbridge, GA; Talmadge Mathis & wife Bonny of Winter Springs, FL; Virgil Mathis & wife Mary of Nashville, GA; five grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren & three great great grandchildren. Family will receive friends Thursday, August 5, 2010 from 6-8 pm at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home, Bartow. Funeral services will be held Friday, August 6, at 2:00 pm at the funeral home.
