Lois Loyd

Bartow - Lois Loyd, age 73, passed away March 25, 2024, at her residence in Bartow. She was born on November 24, 1950, in Alturas, FL to the late Preston & Frances (Gillis) Palmer . She worked for the Polk County School Board where she retired after many years. She was a member of Christian Home Freewill Baptist Church. She enjoyed going to church, working in her garden, listening to gospel music, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Lynwood C. Loyd, sister Brenda Martin and brother Reggie Palmer. She is survived by a loving family that includes sons Anthony L. Loyd (Maureen) of Bartow & Charles T. Loyd (Jill) of Bartow, sisters Frances Hoskins of Bartow, Teresa Hall of Bartow & Stephanie Franklin (Randy) of Bartow, brother Randy Palmer (Jane) of Bartow, grandchildren Kyle Loyd (Amber), Jazzamine Sanchez (Jose), Jordan Loyd & Brianna Loyd, great grandchildren Colton, Cade, Callan, & Chloe and many nieces & nephews. Family will receive friends Thursday, March 28, 2024, from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home, Bartow. Funeral service will be held Thursday, March 28, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home. Interment will be held at Wildwood Cemetery, Bartow.
