Lloyd A. Scott

Mr. Lloyd A. Scott, Jr., age 68, died Wednesday, October 15, 2008, at home in Bartow. Born, April 24, 1940 in Bartow, Mr. Scott the son of the late Lloyd A. "Scotty" Scott, Sr. and Ida Lee (Minnis) Scott. He was a lifelong resident of Bartow. Mr. Scott worked as an equipment technician for GTE and was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church in Bartow. Mr. Scott was also the owner and operator of WPUL, AM, WLAS, FM, and Channel 14 WETV. He was a member of the Bartow Rotary Club with perfect attendance for 30 years. He served in the FHP Auxiliary for 10 years, Sheriff's Auxiliary for 4 years. Mr. Scott was and U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of the Florida National Guard. He is survived of his wife of 34 years, Pattie Scott of Bartow, daughter Denise Morton and husband Kevin of Cumming, GA. and three grandchildren; Camille, Luke, and Anna Catherine. Arrangements are being handled by Whidden-McLean Funeral Home 650 East Main Street in Bartow where family will receive friends Firday Oct. 17, 2008 from 5 PM to 7 PM. Services will follow Saturday Oct. 18th at 2:00 PM at St. Thomas Catholic Church 2180 S. Kissingen Ave. in Bartow.
