Linda Whidden Bennett, 79, passed away Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at Winter Haven Hospital. Born November 28, 1935 in Fort Myers, Mrs. Bennett was a resident of Bartow since 1960, moving from Corkscrew Settlement near Immokalee. She was a member of the Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Bartow. Mrs. Bennett was active with the Cub and Girl Scouts programs for several years. She was a lunchroom attendent with Bartow Middle School and Polk Life & Learning School. She was a bus driver for Polk Life & Learning for nine years. She is preceded in death by her husband, Henry P. "Hank" Bennett. Mrs. Bennett is survived by two sons: Butch Bennett of Bartow and Billy Bennett of Wauchula; a daughter: Judy Schultheis (Terry) of Bartow; granddaughter: Allison Gibson and great granddaughter: Sophie Pearl Gibson. Family will receive friends Friday, February 6, 2015 from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home, Bartow. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 7, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, 500 W. Stuart St, Bartow.
