Lila Belle Whitlock Crumbly, 93, of Fort Meade, FL, died Monday, September 13, 2010 from complications of a stroke. Born January 9, 1917 in Enterprise, Alabama she moved to Frostproof when she was a teenager and finally moved to Fort Meade in 1992. She worked as fruit sectionizer at Donald Duck in Lake Wales and was also a homemaker. Lila was the song leader at the Southside Baptist Church in Frostproof and after moving to Fort Meade she became a member of Fort Meade First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty years William A. Crumbly; two daughters, Deborah Loper and Wilma Crumbly; one son Tony Albert Crumbly. She is survived by her two Daughters; Faye Belcher and husband Adolph of Fort Meade; Melba Cook of Princeton, AL. one son; Alton Crumbly and wife Bonnie of St Petersburg. Thirteen grandchildren; Allen, Melissa, Candace, Chasity, Justin, Pam, Linda, Wanda, Cindy, Gary, Sherry, Terry and Jodie. Twenty five great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren. Arrangements are being handled by McLean Funeral Home, 306 East Broadway in Fort Meade, FL. The family will receive friends Saturday, Sept. 18, 2010 from 2 to 3 PM at the First Baptist Church 307 East Broadway in Fort Meade and services will begin at 3:00 PM. Interment will be at Silver Hill Cemetery in Frostproof, FL. Donations may be made to Good Shepherd Hospice 105 Arneson Ave. Auburndale, FL 33823.
