Lerline E. Sims

Lerline E Sims, age 93, died Wednesday, August 4, 2010, at Winter Haven Hospital in Winter Haven. Born November 18, 1916 in Ardmore, AL, Mrs. Sims was a longtime resident of Bartow. She was a member of Lake Ruth Baptist Church. She was also a hospital volunteer for several years. She was preceded by her husband: John H. Sims, Sr. She is survived by five sons: John H. Sims, Jr. of Auburndale; Doyle H Sims of Geneva, AL; Kenneth R Sims of Lakeland; Randy W Sims of Bartow; Glenn N. Sims of Bartow; four daughters: Barbara Hoover of Lake Alfred; Joann Patterson of Bartow; Linda Haag of Bartow; Judy Blackwell of Kingston, GA; one brother: Paul Ausbon of Trinity, AL; 10 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren & 1 great great grandchild. Family will receive friends Saturday, August 7, 2010, 3-4 pm at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home, Bartow. Funeral services will follow at 4 pm at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Bartow Wildwood Cemetery.
