Leon Kelly

Mr. Leon Kelly, Jr., age 75, died of respiratory failure Thursday May 29, 2008 in Bartow. Born September 3, 1932 in Nashville, GA, Mr. Kelly was the son of the late Leon Kelly Sr. and Edith Kelly. Mr. Kelly was a longtime Bartow resident and worked as a truck driver for Wickie Company for 25 years. Along with his parents, Leon is preceded in death by his wife Edith Kelly. He is survived by a loving family that includes his daughter Beverly "Becky" Lanier of Bartow, and four sons; Curtis Kelly (Tammy), Roger "Ronnie" Kelly (Kim), Edward "Buster" Kelly (Trina), and Dion Kelly (Missy) all of Bartow. He also leaves behind a sister Marisse Bland (Horace) of Lakeland, thirteen grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. Arrangements are being handled by Whidden-McLean Funeral Home 650 East Main Street in Bartow where family will receive friends Sunday June1, 2008 from 4 PM to 6 PM. Services for Mr. Kelly will follow Monday June 2, 2008 at 10:00 AM at the funeral home chapel.
