Leon H. Hebb

Leon H. Hebb, age 72, passed away Friday, August 26, 2011 at Good Shepherd Hospice in Auburndale of cancer. Born October 5, 1938 in Bartow, Mr. Hebb was a lifelong resident of the area. He was a graduate of Lynchburg College of Lynchburg, VA. He was a US Army veteran.. He was Bureau Chief of the Pest, Eradication and Control Division, serving with the Florida Department of Agriculture for forty years. He was a member of the Florida Horiculture Society, He was an avid fishman, gardner, artist and enjoyed woodworking. Mr. Hebb was survived by his wife of 50 years: Margaret G. Hebb; two sons: Frank "Greg" Hebb & wife Sally; Johathan L. Hebb & wife Jamie all of Bartow; daughter: Cynthia Hebb Willis & husband Raymond of Avon Park; two sisters: Ruth Givens of Charlottesville, VA & Helen Stidham of Manassas, VA; 7 grandchildren: Emily, Lindsay, Kaley, Samantha, Nathan, Cody & Hank. Family will receive friends Monday, August 29, 2011from 6- 8 PM at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home, 650 East Main St, Bartow. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
